Nick Lawrence

A graduate of Brigham Young University, Nick studied Mechanical Engineering and Business Strategy. Upon graduation, he did what any reasonable Engineering student would do, he pursued the Professional Golf Tour. To help support himself while working on his golf game (he routinely shoots below par in case you want to add him to your scramble team), Nick did commissioned art work. Gifted from childhood with a great eye and an obedient hand, his sense of style flourished in several mediums. When the author (yes, Mitch is Nick’s father…the secret is out) was about halfway through writing Vision of the Crow, he commissioned Nick to create sketches of some of the main characters. Nick’s wife Ashton approved of the direction he took Leonhard Old Crow and gave inspiration to the sketch of professional dancer, Carina Hidalgo. Raised on a horse ranch, Nick’s unique ability to capture the distinct characteristics of Old Crow’s Mustang, Baa Cho (Apache for Wolf) compared to the quarter mile sprinter El Santo is remarkable (ie, note the difference in head shape and carriage). As we progress through the publication process of Vision of the Crow, we hope to add more character sketches. Thanks to Nick for sharing his gift.
